Target Audience

This activity is intended for physicians, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, general practitioners and other health care professionals involved in the treatment and management of patients who have or are at risk of HCV infection.

 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of theactivity, participants should be better able to:

  • Describe the demographics of and risk factors for HCV infection in African Americans
  • Identify strategies to improve the rate of testing and diagnosis of African Americans with HCV infection
  • Link patients with diagnosed HCV infection to timely and appropriate HCV therapy
  • Provide individualized HCV therapy to African American patients with HCV infection that addresses barriers to optimal care and outcomes
