Target Audience

This activity is intended for physicians, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, general practitioners and other health care professionals involved in the treatment and management of patients who have or are at risk of HIV infection.

 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of theactivity, participants should be better able to: 

• Describe and address risk factors that contribute to the continued spread of HIV, especially in high-risk and underserved population

• Review the need for strategies to reduce the risk of new infections with HIV in various populations

• Explain the rationale behind various behavioral and medical interventions designed to improve linkage to HIV care and improve treatment outcomes

• Identify and address barriers to optimal HIV treatment in various populations, including STI, PWID, and underserved populations
